Decembristerne 2020

J.F. Willumsen’s old, beautiful doors into Den Frie are closed. That’s how it has to be in this pandemic-stricken time—we need to take care of one another. But behind those closed doors is Decembristernes’ exhibition. And even though there is no physical access to the show, there will be online access to Decembristerne’ works, as they will be viewable—and purchasable—on the newly launched webshop: www.shop.denfrie.dk!

We are living in a year where plans constantly change. First, the opening date of Decembristerne’ 2020 exhibition was rescheduled due to the spring lockdown, and now the country is shut down again, preventing the planned December 18th opening from taking place. When the lockdown hit last week, the works were already created, the installation plan was finalized, and the catalogue was at the printer. It was therefore decided to proceed with the exhibition—even if it had to be behind closed doors. At the same time, a webshop was created so Decembristerne could offer their works for sale.
