KE 2012 – The Artists’ Autumn Exhibition

It is with great pleasure we can announce that Den Frie will be hosting the Artists’ Autumn Exhibition of KE 2012 once again, with the opening on Friday the 12th of October. This exciting presentation of upcoming talent has been a recurrent event for more than one hundred years now, and it will allow you a unique insight into what is moving in the contemporary art world of Denmark.

In the past, KE has started the careers of some of Denmarks most prominent atists, such as Henry Heerup, Asger jorn, Richard Mortensen and Bjørn Nørgaard. Now, the search for talent continues and we hope to add some new names to this list in a little less than a month.

One of the extraordinary things about KE is that the selection of artworks for the exhibition happens on a completely blind notice. The participants get a chance to have their works judged by a professional panel of established artists. Because of this the artists name, educational background or network play no role whatsoever in the selection procedure; and the art object itself remains our focal point at KE. At Den Frie, we will present to you the final selected works. This year’s panel consists of Morten Schelde, Gudrun Hasle, Bjørn Poulsen, Henrik Saxgren, and Cathrine Raben Davidsen.

This year, Benjamin Grodin won the jury-prize for his piece Reconstruction.
