The Banana School arises as an art school and exhibition at Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, where free tuition is offered daily to anyone who wants to participate. The banana school is offering an alternative to the publicly authorized schools and wants to offer teaching in subjects and practices that are not normally seen in either primary schools, universities or art academies. The banana school opens i.a. with revolutionary fitness, harsh noise concert and class class with Florian Cramer. The Banana School is part of the Dacapo exhibition series.

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Bananskolen
The Museum of Contemporary Art has been invited to teach at the self-organized art school Bananskolen four times over the autumn of 2022 at Den Frie Udstillingsbygning in Copenhagen.
Since its foundation in 1991, the museum has shown art at the crossroads between new media and genre-breaking art practices. The four events fish out newer and older exhibition projects from the museum’s archive, which you might learn something from. What they have in common are perspectives on the so-called free art and dreams of other worlds.
