ARTIST WORKSHOP
The Workshops are arranged specifically in collaboration with a selected artist who, based on his or her own artistic practise, will lead the workshop. Special workshops will also be arranged in connection with current exhibitions, where the exhibited artists and the curators are offering workshops.
Furthermore, Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art, as an artist driven institution, is in close contact with leading Danish artists who will also be included in the team of workshop managers.

ARTIST IN THE HOUSE
As a new initiative, Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art offers workshops arranged and run through the ‘artist in the house’ programme which is a collaboration between Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art, a school and a Danish artist. The purpose of the programme is to further encounters between children and young people and the art, and to give them insight into artistic processes. The ‘artist in the house’ is supported by the Danish Arts Council.

Visual artist Tina Scherzberg (b. 1973) is the first ‘artist in the house’ in Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art. The intention of Tina Schertzberg’s workshops is to provide school classes (grades 6-9) with the possibility of a thorough art experience, which is a step further than the usual guided tour. With a basis in the current exhibition, the students will be introduced to contemporary art, and at the same time get insights into the diversified possibilities of interpreting works of art. Following a thorough introduction and discussion about the exhibition, the students, in co-operation with the artist, will choose a work of art which they are supposed to work with in groups. For example the students are going to transform their interpretation of the work into their own story, which subsequently will result in a simply produced animation.
