Det Ovale Rum invites the public into a collective exploration of the broad spectrum of the erotic and lust. Through an experimental process of development a team of voluntary participants have examined their own sexuality. In collaboration with Det Ovale Rum and a group of professional performance artists each individual participant have created an erotic performance, which will be presented during the exhibition of the installation called PEEP(show) at Den Frie.
PEEP(show) facilitates a meeting between voyeurism and exibitionism and seeks to create an intimate and interactive space, where the audience can discover and indulge in the performative universes as presented by the participants. The curious and voyeuristic gaze will transform into an erotic and artistic film, depicting what we are drawn towards sexually at this point in time.
PEEP(show) is an attempt to create an experimental platform, where the public themselves can partake in the depiction and perception of sex and erotica. Det Ovale Rum is creating this space to serve as an alternative to the established versions of the erotic, as presented by the porn industry. At its core PEEP(show) is a dream about abolishing the taboos relating to the perverse and to celebrate the amorous by inviting the erotic into the collective, engaging and public space.
